ACCESSIBILITY

The area is mostly even with the ground. We have a suitable toilet for handicapped people and will try our best to get rid of all obstacles. Only the beach area near the lake is inaccessible for wheelchair users due to the sand. If you need any help please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance.

ADDRESS

Our address is:

Hülltoft Weg
25927 Neukirchen
(between Niebüll and Tønder)

ADMISSION

If you are arriving on Thursday you will be able to join our opening night starting from 6 p.m.

On Friday and Saturday the festival area opens from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m.

AGE LIMIT

Kids who are 14 to 17 years old are only allowed to attend with a parent or legal guardian. Children under the age of 14 are only allowed to attend SKANDALØS with their parents. You need to download and fill out a form which we will provide on our website shortly before the festival.

ARRIVAL

For those of you who are planning on driving, there will be a field that will be kept free for parking. You can pay a small fee of 2 € and leave your car there for the weekend.

If you travel by train, the cheapest are the “Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket,” “Schleswig-Holstein-Ticket” or the “Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket.” The nearest station is Klanxbüll.

CAMPING

The campsite is open from Thursday 3 p.m. until Sunday 2 p.m. At the campsite there are portable toilets, access to drinking water and showers. Caravans will have their own campsite.

Please always keep at the back of your mind that you will be camping on agricultural land. Please leave your campsite clean and tidy because whatever you leave behind might turn up in your muesli and stressed out cows may make sour milk!

CASHIER

The opening hours are:

  • Thursday: From 2:00 p.m.
  • Friday + Saturday: From 12:00 p.m.

DENMARK

Our neighbour Denmark is just a hop, skip and jump away. Whoever is interested in a nice walk, can walk to the border in about half an hour. Tondern (Tønder) is the closest biggest Danish city and is about 12 km away from the festival.

DISCRIMINATION

The SKANDALØS should be a place for freedom and diversity. As such we think that it goes without saying that everyone treats each other with respect and tolerance.

Any form of harassment or discrimination will be taken very seriously. Violence will obviously not be tolerated under any circumstances. In case of conflicts, we will do our best to help find a solution.

DRUGS

Everyone should be able to party as much as he or she would like to, but everyone should know their own boundaries and look after one another. Whoever is caught dealing or with illegal substances will be kicked off the site!

FAMILIES

We will provide a special campground for families with small children. There you can withdraw from the festival turbulences if necessary. For the really small festivalgoers we will lend out earmuffs.

FIRE / FIREWORKS

Open fires and fireworks are not allowed due to the thatched rooved houses in the area as well as your tent neighbours. Whoever wants to dance around a campfire can do so at our fire spot at the main festival site. Please use the designated barbeque spots within the campsite. Whoever lights up a firework will be kicked off the site.

GARBAGE DEPOSIT

Five euros of your ticket price will be refunded to you when you return a FULL bag of rubbish. You will be given a rubbish bag when you receive your festival wristband.
The rubbish drop-off times are:

  • Saturday: 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Sunday: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
GLASS BOTTLES

We don’t want to forbid anyone from bringing his or her own drinks to the Fesival. However for safety reasons, we only permit 1 litre bottles of Weich-PET. It is forbidden to bring glass bottles onto the campsites.

HELP WITH HEARTS AND HANDS

The anticipation for the next SKANDALØS is growing fast, but we wouldn’t have been able to get to this point, without a heap of help. Now you guys can join in! We are looking for hard working helpers for the Festival weekend. You can find more information and a web form on our homepage, however for most jobs you will need to be able to speak German.

NORTH SEA

The North Sea is approximately 10 kms away from the campsite. It is worth the trip to the steep cliff „Emmerlevklev“ at Højer in Denmark for the fresh sea breeze.

PRICES

We don’t want people to have to fetch warm, flat beer out of their tents because they can’t afford the cool, refreshing enjoyment at the festival. That’s why the prices at the festival bars will be very affordable for your tiny purses.

RESPECT THE BIRDS

The bird protection zone begins at the reed edge and is holy.

Please don’t disturb our North Frisian dickeys.

RESPECT THE PEOPLE

Everyone should feel free and celebrate as much as they want, but don’t forget about the people around you! Have respect for the other festivalgoers, look after each other and be ready to help. Then we will all have a wonderful time together.

SAFETY

We do have a few ground rules, most of them are pretty obvious, but they still need to be written down here.

Please don’t bring any of the following to the campsite/festival site:

  • Any type of weapon
  • glass bottles
  • pyrotechnics
  • gas cookers
  • dogs or other pets

SHOPPING

If you’re arriving by train or by car via Niebüll, you can do your shopping at EDEKA Ove Lück near the station. The next shop that is within walking distance is TOP KAUF in Neukirchen. A shuttle bus will run between the TOP KAUF and the Festival site. At the campsite there will be a Kiosk “Uncle Emma” just like last year. You will be able to find everything from rain jackets to tobacco, all the things that add up to make a successful festival.

SHUTTLE BUS

A shuttle bus will take you between the station Klanxbüll and the Festival site:

  • Thursday (3.8): 2.00 a.m. – 9.00 p.m. (8 times)
  • Friday (4.8.): 11.00 a.m. – 8.00 p.m. (6 times)
  • Saturday (5.8.): 11.00 a.m. – 8.00 p.m. (4 times)

Shuttle from the Festival back to Klanxbüll:

  • Sunday (6.8): 9.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m. (7 times)

WEATHER TIPS

The North Frisian weather is very unique and often windy. So that you are prepared for all conditions, here are a couple of packing tips.

You shouldn’t forget the following:

  • suncream
  • sunglasses
  • bathers
  • good tent pegs
  • wind jacket
  • a torch

Back then

LOOKING BACK

We couldn’t resist a bit of nostalgia because the summer of 2011 and 2013 were something very special!

In both years more than 2000 people partied together with us, carefree under the cloudless North Frisian sky. The love of all things, music and art was obvious to all the festivalgoers and created a unique, happy and relaxed atmosphere. Coming up to our fourth year running festival story we must thank all the people behind the scenes. Especially the community of Neukirchen, many big hearted farmers, caring parents and energetic helpers, without whom, SKANDALØS 2011 and 2013 would never have taken place.

At this point, we’d just like to say another fat THANK YOU to all our helpers an visitors for two festival weekends that we will never forget!
